Cánh gà rửa sạch, cắt đôi, khía lên cánh để lúc rán nhanh chín và thấm gia vị hơn. Để cánh gà hơi ráo nước rồi cho một xíu bột canh (khoảng nửa thìa nhỏ) trộn đều vào cánh gà, cho thêm 1 ít hạt tiêu trộn đều, sau đó cho 1 ít bột mỳ trộn chung với cánh gà để tạo thành lớp bột mỏng bám bên ngoài cánn gà. Cho cánh gà vào chảo dầu nóng và rán trong khoảng 10 phút để cánh gà vàng lên, chín khoảng 80-90%
Sau khi cánh gà đã vàng 2 mặt, vớt ra để ra đĩa. bỏ bớt dầu ăn trong chảo ra sau đó cho hàng tỏi băm vào phi thơm, cho thêm 4-5 muỗng nước mắm, 3-4 thìa đường (tùy khẩu vị)..xếp cánh gà vào đảo cho ngấm gia vị... cho thêm 1 ít nước để đỡ cháy.. sau đó đun tiếp trong khoảng 5 phút, chú ý thỉnh thoảng lật mặt để ngấm gia vị.
Lấy cơm ra đĩa, xếp cánh gà vào, rưới nước sốt trong chảo lên, cho thêm dưa chuột, cà chua ăn kèm tùy sở thích và thưởng thức.
