They're actually ok when they're prepared well, but not anything to write home about. I'm glad for having tried it a few times and i wouldn't say no if somebody offered me a gourmet escargot platter for free, but if i have the choice i'll probably pick something more interesting, because snails just don't have much of an own taste, it's all in the garlic sauce. I'm not french though...

There's no taste, once cooked it's just rubbery. If you can get behind the idea that you're eating a snail, then you might enjoy it. Especially if it comes in a garlic butter sauce.

Well its delicious. I cant understand whats the problem with it. There is a restaurant in Rhodes where they serve snails with tomato sauce and it fuckin blew me away. Wherever I go I always check if there is a snail speciality because the french arent the only ones who make it. Try it!
